Its called donkey tail spurge or Euphorbia myrsinites. And well it is all over our yard. I did not think it was poisonous... well we found that out when Olivia decided she would try a few berries. I don't know what possessed her to eat them. she said they tasted bad, yet she ate 5 berries. I had several conversations with her about not eating any plants because I know there are others in the Albuquerque area that are poisonous and well its just a good thing to teach your kids to begin with. So she was aware that she should not eat plants, but that did not seem to stop her. It took about an hour for the symptoms to show and a few days for them to mostly disappear. This plant is a known skin irritant and causes blisters after contact, and she ate it. Her first complaints were uncomfortable burning in her throat and a stomach ache. We called poison control after we identified the plant and followed their directions. We gave her tums and some milk and watched her. She later threw up twice. But after that she seemed to feel better. The next morning she had developed blisters everywhere the plant oils had touched her, mostly on her face around the mouth. And she had a little diarea. Poison control said that was normal and to be expected. She had the blisters till that night when they all seemed to pop on their own. After that she had no more discomfort and only some minor sores where the worst of the blisters were. Be got her some lotion for them that we let her put on herself. she is all better.

Your recent stories have made me TERRIFIED of what the next few years of motherhood have in store for me. You have definitely had your hands full.
I think we have just had a run of bad luck. but it also could be that all my children are fearless, and want to try it all. They just dont have that self preservation instinct yet...
